The Mulberry Bush (NEW)

A happy circle game incorporating full body movements.

Description

A happy circle game incorporating full body movements.

FOCUS AREAS: [coordination] [active listening] [low frequency vibration] [inhibitory control] [balance] [proprioception] [midline crossing] [low energy] [core strength]

Extension?

  • There are two very clear distinctive parts to the song: the "Mulberry Bush” section, then the action based section. This means you have two opportunities to create two different movements.
  • The “Mulberry Bush” section can be in a circle; children holding hands and walking side/together/side/together to make the circle go around. You could incorporate holding lycra or a stretchy cord/large elastic as well.
  • The action based section - ask the children what other ideas they might have to incorporate into this part.

Lyrics:

Here we go round the mulberry bush,

The mulberry bush, the mulberry bush.

Here we go round the mulberry bush

On a cold and frosty morning/So early in the morning

‍

This is the way we wash our hands

Wash our hands, wash our hands.

This is the way we wash our hands

On a cold and frosty morning/So early in the morning.

‍

This is the way we…

Brush our hair

Put on our pants

Brush our teeth
