Extension?

  • Choose a child to sit in the middle of the circle to tap the beat; you can change the lyrics of the song to fit their name. The rest of the children march to the beat surrounding them in a circle.
  • Let the children choose and incorporate movements to the song; can we march, stomp, jump, skip, walk, run?
  • Incorporating instruments: Can the children walk/march and tap their tapping sticks to this beat simultaneously?

Lyrics:

Sally go ‘round the stars,

Sally go ‘round the moon.

Sally go ‘round the chimney pot

On a Sunday afternoon.
