A beat keeping rhyme encouraging coordination and active listening.
FOCUS AREAS: [active listening] [coordination] [crossing the midline] [low energy]

One song, many ways:
- Can you reverse the tempo of the rhyme? Can you start slow, then speed up for "hot potato hot potato do it all again!"
- Inner hearing: Can you say the rhyme "in your head" and only demonstrate the actions?
- Game: Have all children sit in a circle with one potato (their fist) stretched out in front of them. Choose a child (or yourself) to walk around and tap each fist to the beat of the rhyme. When you reach the "hot potato hot potato, do it all again!" part of the rhyme, that person that it lands on will then get a turn to lead the group by tapping the beat around the circle.
Lyrics:
One potato, two potato, three potato four.
Five potato, six potato, seven potato more.
[slowly] eight potato, nine potato, here comes number ten...
[gasp] hot potato hot potato do it all again!
