A gentle lullaby to create calm.
FOCUS AREAS: [low frequency vibration] [calming]
Source: Catch a Song, Deanna Hoermann & Doreen Bridges (1985)
One song, many ways:
- Used anytime, any place: Nappy changing, tummy time, rocking the child to sleep, comforting an emotionally distressed child, co-regulation... this song will immediately instill calm and continue to strengthen those emotional bonds between child and adult.
- Toddlers who are more independent: Can they hold their own doll or toy and rock/sway along with you as you sing the song?
- How else can you sing this song? Humming? Whistling? Lip trilling (blowing raspberries)? Humming the melody with your cheek against the child's cheek creates a lovely low frequency vibration that can be transferred to the child's body to create calm.
Lyrics:
I see the moon and the moon sees me.
God bless the moon and the moon bless me.
