A song for babies to experience beat and movement through a hip bounce.
FOCUS AREAS: [calming] [proprioception] [active listening]
Source: Catch a Song, Deanna Hoermann & Doreen Bridges (1985)
One song, many ways:
- Sitting down with the baby on your knees: Sing the song bouncing your knees and swaying the baby left to right. When singing the "over" part, lift the baby up and then place them back down on your knees for the second part of the song.
- Toddlers: Hold their hands while they stand opposite you. When singing the "over" part, lift their hands high into the air and sing the second part of the song with hands waving in the air.
Lyrics:
Bluebells, cockle shells, eevie eye-vee over,
Bluebells, cockle shells, eevie eye-vee over.
